Estate Sales in the DC Area - 5/10 - 5/12
Hi!! Thanks for being here. Last week was crazy, so many unique sales and fun stuff happening. This weekend, the selection is a little more limited, but sometimes that’s nice.
You all seemed to really like the Estate Sale adjacent events I mentioned, so I will include any I hear about that I think are worth going to.
If you want to see my photos/videos of Estate Sales, check out my Instagram.
For this week, I picked out the following sales:
Maryland
Vibe: Great collection of everything
Why I selected it: The description states: “The owner served as Country Director for Costa Rica and also for El Salvador during the revolution. She also served in Grenada during the invasion and in Guyana, Swaziland and Uganda.” Usually there is not this much detail about the owner, so I thought that was interesting. It looks like there is a lot of art, jewelry (love this necklace), and furniture. I’m obsessed with this couch. I also love this paisley outdoor couch.
Times:
FRI 10 - 3
SAT 10 - 3
SUN 10 - 3
Vibe: Tons of bags, shoes, clothing
Why I selected it: I’ll have a sneak peek of this one, but there is lots of designer shows, clothes, and bags. I like these Ralph Lauren buckle shoes. I also like these patchwork chairs, they’re kind of fun.
Times:
FRI 10 - 2
SAT 10 - 2
SUN 10 - 2
Vibe: Furniture - think like modern meets Yellowstone
Why I selected it: This is a downsizing sale, so the selection will be smaller than a classic Estate Sale. But, I think a lot of the furniture is beautiful and a little more modern than usual. I really like this alligator skin (?) couch and this cow print bench. I think if you’re into the style in the photos and looking for furniture this is a good one.
Times:
SAT 10 - 4
SUN 10 - 4
MON 12 - 5
TUE 12 - 5
Virginia
Vibe: Full, classic Estate Sale
Why I selected it: This looks like a full sale with lots of stuff. For example, a collection of clocks, lots of vinyl, some outdoor furniture, an MCM tension poll lamp, a lot of camera equipment, and some sports stuff.
Times:
FRI 10 - 3
SAT 10 - 3
SUN 10 - 3
Non-Estate Sale but Estate Sale Adjacent Events
Vibe: Very hip
Why I selected it: This is a vintage market at Union Market, it happens biannually. The vendors look solid, and there is a big range of vintage items (clothing, house stuff, vinyl, etc.). If you can’t make it outside of the city for sales this weekend, this is a great alternative.
Times:
SAT 11 - 5 (this event requires tickets with timed entry)
Let me know if you go to any of these and what you think!
